Greetings!

This Week's Family-Friendly NE Houston Happenings!

Hello friends! At Macaroni Kid, we strive to be your BEST source of events and activities in and near North East Houston.

We are now diving into the summer...literally and figuratively.  With this heat, it feels that either the air conditioning is the right choice or the pool is the other right choice.  I love that there are lots of great things to do here in Houston that are cool!  From local libraries, indoor play places and even the Houston Zoo, we have ways to educate, encourage development and enchant our little ones.

We have an awesome giveaway this week that I bet your children will love.  And there are two families that will win this one so make sure you get your entries in!  (Scroll down for more details)

Have an amazing week!

Trisha

REPTILES TO ARRIVE IN HOUSTON AND BE WELCOMED BY ENTHUSIASTS

Common perceptions of a reptile loving snake keeper may conjure images of tough bikers enjoying a noisy nightlife or a khaki clad naturalist adventuring through the jungle. Show promoters at Repticon say these events most often include seven-year old girls, the eighty-something grandmothers, and the entire range of ...

Atlantis: The Lost Empire / Atlantis: Milo's Return: Two-Movie Collection

I have the tendency to get "addicted" to certain movies.  Especially Disney movies, which is why I am loving that as new movies come out of the Disney vault, they are coming out with their sequels included with it.  I had never seen Atlantis but became instantly enchanted with it as I was given the opportunity to review it.

This is the story of a young man and his desire to find the Lost City of Atlantis.  This movie does show a more mature side of Disney than some of ...

Quick Low Sugar Black Berry Freezer Jam

Macaroni Menu

Recently I jumped at the chance for a new experience when I discovered a “pick your own” blackberry farm fairly close to home and had some spare time just begging to be filled with new adventures. Since I'm originally from a cold weather climate, picking my own berries and preserving them was just not something I had ever had the opportunity to do, so I was excited to give it a whirl.
I researched several options and methods online, tweaked them all a bit to come up with something ...

Summer is a Great Time to Earn Some Extra Money

Learn how from these amazing business owners!

One of the favorite parts doing what I do, is the ability to do it from home.  I have been blessed to find ways to contribute to my families income, but also be home when my children come home from school.  There are many women out there, not only making their own money but also doing it from the comfort of their own homes.  We have some of these amazing women right here in our communities, and they can show you how to do what they do!

Kids Eat Free

Why not dine and save at the same time!

This article is a work in progress but also a labor of love.  Dining out with children can really get expensive.  This is a way that families can still dine out together and have it not affect their pocketbook as much. I am just getting started so please post in comments places around town that you have seen and we will get them added to the list too!
